Busy Mom Health and Fitness is a site for busy working mothers who want to stay physically active and live a healthy lifestyle. As a full time working parent with a small child I understand that this can be a challenge at best. I want to be fit not ripped or an over-the-top workout queen. I am a normal person who likes to eat. I will probably never have six-pack abs or a gun show for arms. As healthy as I try to be I will still have slip ups and eat too much lasagna from time to time. That’s me and I am okay with that.
Just because I am not your typical hard core ripped workout queen doesn’t mean I can’t stay strong, healthy and in shape. I do enjoy a variety of fitness activities and I work hard to stay in good shape. I also believe in green healthy living and I look for ways to incorporate that into my and my family’s daily life.
I am slightly obsessive about learning new things about fitness and health despite my imperfections, so much so, that I have been certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer. I also worked in women’s boot camps since 2007.
I decided to create this site for two reasons. First, I hope that there are others like me who can benefit from my knowledge and adopt some of the food and exercise habits I share. I want to have a comprehensive site that helps women put their health first so they can be their best. Secondly, I would like to be able to make a career transition to health and fitness so I work from home and spend time with my baby and have another child. Working forty hours a week and commuting doesn’t leave much time in the evening for family. At the end of the day, family is all we have and I would like to be able to continue to support my family without having to sacrifice precious time.
